ACRF's 2km A Day In May challenge  

Thank you for registering for ACRF's 2km A Day In May Challenge (the Event), a fundraising initiative of Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) to raise funds for cancer research.  From 1 May 2024 to 31 May 2024, participants will run or walk every day in May to complete 2kms or more of movement to help raise essential funds for lifesaving cancer research.

By participating in ACRF's 2km A Day In May challenge, you are accepting these Terms and Conditions, the Fundraising Guidelines, and our Privacy Policy and agree to comply with them. 


General

2km A Day In May is open to people aged 18 and above. If you are under the age of 18, you must ensure that these terms and conditions are accepted by your parent or guardian on your behalf. Children under 15 years of age must have the explicit consent of their parent or guardian to participate at the time of registration and be accompanied/supervised by their parent or guardian during the Event Period and any associated fundraising activities. 

By registering for 2km A Day In May, you take on the responsibility of organising the fundraising and fitness activity in a suitable and responsible way. Your participation in the event is entirely voluntary, and you are free to withdraw at any time if you choose not to proceed.

By participating in the Event, you understand and acknowledge that you take full responsibility for any consequences of your participation. You agree to carefully consider the risks, including those associated with physical exertion, before participating. You warrant that you are physically fit enough for safe participation and acknowledge that it's your sole responsibility to consult with a doctor before the event to discuss any conditions that may impede your ability to participate safely. Regardless of whether you consult with a doctor, you are aware of the risks and voluntarily assume and accept them.

During your participation in the 2km A Day In May Challenge, you agree to adhere to all public health rules and regulations in your State or Territory or the State or Territory in which you complete the Event.

You agree to show respect for other participants in the Event, and that your conduct will always be considerate of others. You agree to abide by venue rules concerning activities, coarse language, privacy, and noise. 


Fundraising

You acknowledge that by registering to participate in the 2km A Day In May Challenge, you pledge to raise funds for ACRF.  

You acknowledge that by registering for the Event, you will set up a fundraising profile on the event website and ensure that all donations are made via your fundraising profile and, in particular, will not accept any donations directly without contacting ACRF on fundraising@acrf.com.au. You acknowledge that the donations are for ACRF and are remitted directly to ACRF.

You understand that you are authorised by ACRF to fundraise for this Event in the State or Territory in Australia in which you are fundraising. You agree to be bound by the fundraising legislation relevant to that State or Territory. If you have any questions about your obligations, please contact fundraising@acrf.com.au.

If you are not fundraising in Australia, it is your responsibility to ensure that you are fundraising in accordance with all applicable laws in your country.

If you do not coordinate the fundraising activity in an appropriate, and responsible manner ACRF reserves the right to withdraw your authority to fundraise at any time.

Content

ACRF created content: ACRF owns or holds licenses for all trademarks, copyrights, and other intellectual property present on our website, whether created by us or acquired from third parties. Any reproduction or copying of graphics, logos, or other materials from our website is strictly prohibited without our explicit permission. Material from our Resources page on the event website can be downloaded by all participants. For permission to reproduce material please contact ACRF.

Any content you share or post, such as photos and videos, on the event website or associated social media platforms is your responsibility. You must ensure that you are the creator and owner of the posted content or possess the necessary rights, including permission from others or from copyright owners if required. By posting content, you grant ACRF a non-exclusive, transferable, royalty-free worldwide right to use and reproduce that content.

Privacy Policy: The Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF, we, us or our) (ABN 27 076 461 360) is committed to protecting your privacy. Your privacy is of paramount concern to us because we appreciate and value our supporters. This Privacy Policy sets out our practices in relation to the collection, use, storage and disclosure of personal information. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act) as well as other applicable laws protecting privacy.

We may modify or update this privacy policy from time to time by publishing it on this website. We encourage individuals to check our website periodically to ensure that they are aware of our current Privacy Policy.

By providing personal information to us, you consent to our collection, use and disclosure of that personal information on the terms of this Privacy Policy and any other contractual or other arrangements that apply between us (if any).

This Privacy Policy does not apply to acts and practices in relation to employee records of our current and former employees, which are exempt from the Privacy Act.

Fundraising Incentives 

Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) will offer incentives to eligible participants reaching fundraising milestones during the challenge. To qualify, participants must:

  • Register, set up a fundraising page, and commence the challenge.
  • Provide email, phone, and mailing address during registration.
  • Be located in Australia.
  • Achieve the specified fundraising milestone on their fundraising page.

Eligible participants will be promptly notified upon reaching a fundraising milestone accompanied by an incentive. ACRF will dispatch fundraising incentives via Australia Post within a reasonable timeframe. ACRF is not responsible for any delays or delivery issues once the item is with Australia Post.

The incentive is non-redeemable for cash. If the incentive becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, a comparable incentive of equal or greater value will be awarded. Please note that if your selected size is unavailable, the next closest size will be provided. ACRF will dispatch fundraising incentives via Australia Post within a reasonable time. ACRF is not responsible for any delays or delivery issues once the item is with Australia Post. 

Rewards

Acquisition Incentive

All registered participants who sign up before March 31 2024, will automatically be entered into the draw to win one of five $200 vouchers to get kitted out with new sports shoes, just in time for this year’s 2km a Day in May Challenge.

  • The prize consists of a $200 voucher valid at Rebel Sport.
  • The prize voucher is not transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
  • The five winners will be drawn on Monday, April 1 2024 at 10:00am AEDT.
  • All winners will be notified by email and SMS and announced in our 2km A Day in May Facebook Group.

Fundraising Challenges

ACRF will organise various competitions during the campaign period, and participants can enter for a chance to win prizes in a random draw. ACRF will make reasonable efforts to communicate to participants via email, SMS and the 2km A Day In May Facebook group about how to enter challenges and any changes to the conduct of the competitions.

To be eligible, participants must:
  • Be registered and have set up a fundraising page
  • Have commenced the 2km a Day in May challenge.
  • Provide a valid email, phone, and mailing address during registration.
  • Be located in Australia.
  • Successfully complete the competition by follow the provided instructions

Winners of fundraising challenges will be directly notified the day after the competition ends via phone, email and an announcement in the 2km A Day In May Facebook group. Any prize won is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
